This program is implemented in North East India targeting the Institutions/colleges. The aim of program is to motivate the institutions/colleges to officially incorporate Wholistic Development in their curriculum so that the students can have the wholistic view and understanding of development. By educating the potential future leaders, it is expected that the communities in NE will take up wholistic development in a more vigorous way in a few years’ time.
Identification of Focal Partner: NEICORD during the period have identified one focal partner i.e. the Eastern Theological College (ETC), Jorhat, Assam. The project has also identified a consultant from ETC – Rev. Dr. Phenenmon Kath, Associate Professor of ETC who is responsible to develop the Wholistic Development curriculum.
Identification of potential partners: During the period the project along with the consultant has identified the potential partners and rapport was build with these potential partners with the aim that the wholistic development would be shared with these partners in the consultation programme to be organized by the project.
Feasibility Assessment with Institutions/colleges in NEI: During the period NEICORD have conducted the feasibility assessment with the institutions/ colleges of NEI for inclusion of Wholistic Development in their curriculum. Positive feedbacks were received from these institutions/colleges and willingness to include the curriculum.
Consultations: The aim of the consultation programme is to share the concept of the wholistic development curriculum with the identified institutions/colleges where feedbacks and inputs would be provided by these institutions/ colleges and also to make a commitment for adoption of the curriculum. The project expects that 80 per cent of the identified institutions/colleges would adopt the Wholistic Development Curriculum. Due to the pandemic, Consultation programme was organized online.
Wholistic Development Curriculum Guidebook and finalization: Curriculum development was taken up by the consultant and after few rounds of presentation meeting via Zoom/ virtual meet and suggestions, the revised curriculum guidebook was finalized and approved for printing on the 8th February, 2021.
